AGBEDE, Adewale Gbolahan (Esq.)

AGBEDE, Adewale Gbolahan (Esq.) is an accomplished public health professional, seasoned educator, and respected administrator with decades of progressive experience in community health, public health leadership, and academic development. His career reflects a strong commitment to improving health systems, strengthening community-level care, and advancing professional training within Nigeria’s health sector.

Born on 1st November 1976 in Ipe Akoko, he began his educational journey at the primary level from 1980 to 1985, followed by his secondary education between 1986 and 1991. His passion for health care and community service led him to pursue professional training at the College of Health Technology, Akure, where he obtained his Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) qualification between 1997 and 2000.

His pursuit of excellence continued at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he completed the Community Health Officer (CHO) programme from 2008 to 2010. With a growing interest in broader public health systems, he enrolled with the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (2011–2015), further strengthening his academic grounding.

To deepen his expertise, he proceeded to LAUTECH, where he attained a Master of Public Health (MPH) from 2018 to 2020. His dedication to continuous professional advancement saw him return to UCH Ibadan in 2022, where he completed advanced training in Public Health Care Technology (PHCT).

He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Public Health at Lead City University (LCU), Ibadan, with his doctoral programme running from 2023 to 2026.

Mr. Agbede’s career embodies discipline, knowledge, leadership, and a passion for service. As the Provost of the College of Health Science and Technology, he brings a wealth of academic excellence, administrative competence, and visionary leadership—driving the institution toward innovation, high training standards, and community-focused health solutions.

His professional background, combined with his legal training (Esq.), positions him as a dynamic leader committed to building a world-class institution for training the next generation of health professionals.
